Josh doesn't like you
Today's small victory was my mom seeing this picture of Junta and saying he was cute. Hearing someone not in anime fandom say that made me feel better about the ogling.

The line of the day, though, goes to my brother. From a round of Bible Game, when Noah's Ark, a game he's not particularly good at, came up: "Fuck you, Noah." (sees high score board) "Fuck you, Junta."

And whilst I'm on the topic of Takase, why is it that Tosei never fails to provide the crack? Because they always do.

And because I found this as I was writing the entry...

Now that that's out of the way, real-life baseball. I was at Avenue Q yesterday, and during the intermission I discovered what had happened to Boston's staff ace (of 2007; Lester is clearly growing into the ace this year). Whoops, Josh, somebody knows you too well! Toronto always seems to light Josh up lately, and I almost wonder if they know his pitches well enough to wait on specific ones. Tonight appears to be an improvement in the starting pitching department, with Lester going seven strong, but it's important not to overlook Josh's issues with Toronto - perhaps someone should review the tapes and go over things with him. Is he throwing differently out of the stretch? Is he tipping his pitches, perhaps? Or does Toronto just have his number and the players all know what to look for?

Maybe, just maybe, the next time the Sox have a showdown with the Jays, Tito should shuffle around the rotation a bit so Josh doesn't have to throw against them. Because it might help...

Okay, Olympics time. I actually caught some baseball this afternoon, on an Olympics note. Why don't they show it more?

I think the reason why Beckett pitches so poorly against Toronto is because the Jays pitching coach, Brad Arsnberg, was Beckett's pitching coach with the Marlins, so he can tell when Beckett is tipping his pitches and stuff.

I guess they don't show a lot of baseball because there aren't a lot of huge stars playing, but they should show it more. Especially since Adam Stern is on the Canadian team. <3

Okay, that would totally explain a lot. I wasn't aware of that, but that'd give Toronto's hitters a huge advantage when they were reviewing the tape. That makes perfect sense!

I recognize a good bunch of the guys on Team USA because I follow a lot of Minor League ball, and there are a couple of Sox prospects playing for Taipei...I'd like to get a look at them. And I want to see Yu Darvish play for Japan, too, but nobody wants to put Japan on TV here...

Well you don't hafta look any further than Toronto's pitching coach for that -- Brad Arnsberg. He was the Marlins' pitching coach when Beckett was there so I'm guessing he probably has a good feel for when Beckett is on adn when he's tipping pitches and such. *shrugs shoulders*

Yeah, that's what I've been hearing - that explains everything. It probably would be a good idea to find ways for Beckett to avoid pitching against Toronto, if that's the case...
