Yuuto Sakaeguchi, my homeboy
Conveniently missed today's nightmare of a game because [info]mydarkloard and I were having a Fullmetal Alchemist marathon at [info]hanachan01's house. Needless to say, the results were less than pleasant to see on my cell phone tonight. Not fun, guys. Not fun.

Realizing that Havoc bears an uncanny resemblance to Shimazaki Shingo of Oofuri fame severely improved my evening, though. Every time Havoc appeared on the screen, I wanted to scream out, "Iyarashingo!" or "Shimazaki!" but somehow kept myself in check. Ohhh, but it was tempting.

And this is the result of sitting around for several hours doing nothing but watching 16 episodes of FMA:

I still have to color it, but I got the inking done, at least!

Top left: THE BESTEST BATTERY EVARZ, a.k.a. Meoto (Kawai Kazuki and Takase Junta; Tosei). Even though Mihashi and Abe are clearly the most important figures in this picture, I spent more than two hours trying to make sure Junta and Kazuki looked right. Honestly, I probably spent more time on them than everyone else in the picture combined. Damnit, though, they're just too freaking perfect and married!

Top right: Kanou and Hatake (Mihoshi). This was my second time drawing Kanou and my first time drawing Hatake, which is why they both look like shit.

Center: Abe and Mihashi (Nishiura). Abe's eyes are too big. Damn. ...I honestly think I will never ever be able to draw Abe well. He gives me trouble for some reason...

Bottom left: Haruna and Akimaru (Musashino). This was my second time drawing Haruna, who I think came out oddly well considering that I don't see him very often, and my first time drawing Akimaru (I think he looks a little weird). I have trouble with glasses, anyway. Meh.

Bottom right: Ichihara and Daichi (Sakitama!). First time drawing both, obviously - these two are from a manga-only team. Okay, so they'll only be a manga-only team until there is a second season of Oofuri, which is highly likely. Sakitama's a fun school, and Daichi honestly rivals Mihashi for the most entertaining spaz character in the entire series. He's a riot!

Tomorrow I go to Shea Stadium for the very last time. I was there yesterday evening, but tomorrow is my last hurrah. I just know I'm going to cry...it's a little like losing a good friend. This is going to be tough...

I'm only saying but the top left hand corner could EASILY be Clay and Jacoby. I mean I'm only saying...do they do drunken karaoke to Starship too?

Not to my knowledge, but I honestly wouldn't be surprised. I mean, in the manga another character actually says that they're practically married. Which I love too much.

Pssst, I think you should watch the video in my post. It made me think of you when I saw it XD

And also, I love the way you draw. I really wish I could draw anime-esque things.

Ah, really? I'll have to go see it, then!

Aww, thank you! I regularly search Barnes and Noble's art section for any 'How to Draw Manga' books I don't have...they're good to practice from, if you're interested in learning! (It took me years of practice to get good, but it's so much fun to draw that it doesn't feel like work...)

I'll have to check those out, then.

I know I'll never be an artist, but I have fun trying to draw cute little things like that :)

They're the best! (And on an anime note, the first Ookiku Furikabutte DVD box set should arrive here in early 2009. YAY.)

Oh, those little doodles are the best! My notes at school are filled with them in the margins...

That was me being wicked excited :D

How far did you get into it? Because you can read the manga online here while you wait for the anime to get here!

While I was able to type out me being wicked excited, I don't think I can type out uber homigod excited :D

Now you can catch up with the series completely! (Just wait until you get to the Tosei game - that is definitely the best part. Especially the opposing pitcher...he's hilarious. He giggles a lot.)

That's the reason why I totally fell in love with Junta! See, he does this after he catches Mihashi in a rundown and Mihashi pulls this amazingly brilliant face...

HEHEHEH that's fantastic!

Totally a *gigglesnort* moment.

The best is that he totally can't stop and throughout that conversation every time someone says 'rundown' or 'pickoff' he starts giggling again. He's the best. (...and honestly, when you actually watch the scene in the anime and hear him giggling, it's the cutest thing EVER.)

It is definitely my favorite scene in the anime. I rewatch it almost every day because it's the funniest thing ever and because his laugh gives me butterflies, but let's not go there.

Here! Watch it all you like! (I usually do so several times a day because I am pathetic. But Junta is totally worth it.)

Isn't it? I love that he just keeps going and can't stop. I was sort of apathetic about the opposing side up until that point, and then I saw that and I totally fell in love with him (and as a consequence am now obsessed with his entire team). He's amazing.

I drove past it on my way home on Friday and today and when I saw that 'Next Series: Boston' sign I almost cried. I can't believe this is their last time playing there ever!

Welcome back, by the way!

That is, unless the Rays and Chicago and/or Minnesota have epic collapses and the Yankees magically win a lot in the next month... none of which are likely. But I'm totally psyched--I've been to only three pro ballparks before: Fenway, McCoy, and LeLacheur. Next stop, Yankee Stadium! :D

And thanks! It's so nice to be back. Too bad I'm leaving again tomorrow. (Wait... did I just say "too bad" in reference to the next five days? Hells no! That's a good thing!)

Yeah, I don't see that happening, either. Although it'd be pretty insane if it did...This'll be perfect, then! My family is trying to do all thirty (which has resulted in me hitting some random ones like Coors Field on trips to visit family friends and whatnot, which rocks). It'd make for a great summer road trip, doing all thirty...

You're going to have the best time ever, I think. This'll be so amazing! (I'm going to be incredibly selfish and hope the Sox win, even though this is so significant for the Yankees, too...I know that's mean of me, though!)

I'm jealous--as I said, I've been to one major-league ballpark (until Tuesday!). My mom told me today she wants to go to Camden, which is one park I'm dying to go to... and, of course, there's Wrigley. I want to make it to the Trop and Rogers Centre, too, since the tickets are so much cheaper...

It will be the best ever. Plus, it'll be with one of my best friends and her father, who has been to so many big games that I'm sure he has innumerable stories to tell. And, and, and... I'm so excited, words don't quite cover it.

Oh my God, you HAVE to go to Camden Yards! It's one of my favorite places to catch a ballgame - I get to go there every so often because my college is sort of close! ...oh, Wrigley's my dream park. Mmm. And I hope those Trop tickets stay cheap after this season!

Oh, that's going to be AMAZING. I wish I could've gone to those games...and you'll also get to hear those stories, too, which is going to be fantastic!

I know... I'm dying to go. And same about the Trop--my grandparents, who live in Palm Beach, are going to a few games in a few weeks and I'd love to go with them (you know, if I didn't have to be at school).

Grrr, school, getting in the way of baseball! One year for spring break I am thinking of getting a group together to go to Spring Training. Why sit on the beach and get drunk when there's baseball, right?
